چکیده

As one of the significant components energy consumption, importance electricity to economic growth has been recognized by economists and business people, engineering, government agencies. This paper seeks investigate impact consumption on in Nigeria from 1986 2021 using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The properties series were first checked Augmented Dickey fuller (ADF) Phillip Peron (PP) unit root tests, result found a mixture order integration, which paved use ARDL findings bond test indicate present cointegration. Evidence short run reveals that speed adjustment is negative statically significant, confirming expected equilibrium process short-run dynamics among variables under study. results also show inflation, industrial product are statistically positively affect Nigeria's long-run growth. At same time, Unemployment both long run. Based findings, recommends should undertake serious measures curtail shortage country promote general. adopt appropriate policies reduce Unemployment, adversely affecting

Electricity consumption and economic growth empirical evidence from Pakistan

The present article uses the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bounds testing procedure to identify the long run equilibrium relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth. TodaYamamoto andWald-test causality tests have identified the direction of the causal relationship between these two variables in the case of Pakistan in the period between 1971 and 2008. Ng-Perron and ...

Electricity Consumption and Economic Growth: Evidence from 17 Taiwanese Industries

The current paper investigates the existence and nature of the Granger causality between electricity consumption and economic growth for 17 industries in Taiwan. Empirical results over the period 1998–2014 suggest that a panel cointegration test shows a long-run equilibrium relationship and a bi-directional Granger causality between electricity and economic growth has been found. The result ind...

The electricity consumption and economic growth nexus: Evidence from Greece

This paper attempts to cast light into the relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth in Greece in a multivariate framework. For this purpose we used cointegration techniques and the vector error correction model in order to capture short-run and long-run dynamics over the sample period 1970–2011. The empirical results reveal that in the long-run electricity demand appears...

Electricity consumption and economic growth in India

This paper tries to examine the Granger causality between electricity consumption per capita and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita for India using annual data covering the period 1950–51 to 1996–97. Phillips–Perron tests reveal that both the series, after logarithmic transformation, are non-stationary and individually integrated of order one. This study finds the absence of long-run equil...

Economic growth and energy consumption: New evidence using continuous wavelet

This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in the Iranian economy. To that end, a wavelet transformation technique is used, which allows us to combine the time domain and frequency domain characteristics of two time series together. Using this approach and data for the period 1991:2 – 2017:1, this study tries to overcome the shortcomings of  standard eco...
